Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different
At Apria, you’ll experience a unique blend of clinical independence, strong team collaboration, and meaningful patient interaction. This role is primarily office‑based, offering stability while still allowing opportunities to support patients in homes, hospitals, and clinics. You’ll play a key role in equipment setup, education, and ensuring smooth care transitions in partnership with the branch and sales teams.
Key Highlights
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (flexible)
- Work Arrangement: On-site; 95% in the office, with occasional home, hospital, and clinic visits.
- Travel: Covers Kentucky to Indiana; up to 2 hours from the branch.
- $30–$34 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location
- Alternates weekly, mostly phone support with limited home visits.
- Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
- Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
- Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
- Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
- Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
- Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
- Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
- Collaborate with the sales team to convert orders into patient needs.
- Performs other duties as required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active OH RT license
- Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license
- Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
- Hold a current CPR Certification
- Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
