Job Description

Conduct property appraisals for residential and commercial mortgages intended for the secondary market.
Review and validate appraisal reports to ensure compliance with investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA).
Analyze market trends, comparable sales, and property conditions to determine fair market value.
Collaborate with underwriting, loan origination, and secondary market teams to support loan packaging and sales.
Ensure appraisal documentation meets regulatory and investor requirements for securitization and loan transfers.
Provide valuation insights for mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and secondary market transactions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of appraisal regulations, secondary market standards, and industry best practices.
Assist in audits and due diligence processes related to mortgage loan sales.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field.
Licensed/Certified Residential or General Appraiser (state-specific certification required).
3–5 years of experience in mortgage appraisal, preferably with exposure to the secondary market.
Strong knowledge of secondary market investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae).
Proficiency in appraisal software (ACI, Alamode, CoreLogic) and MS Excel.
Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
