Brief On The Organization
Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is a University established under IIPHG Act, 2015 of Gujarat State. It offers courses in the field of Public Health. It also undertakes various research projects in the field of Public Health. The university is established by Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) with support from the Government of Gujarat, Department of Health & Family Welfare.
Project Brief
The Awareness Against Health Threats of Climate Change (AWARE) project is an international research consortium assembled to enhance public health adaptation using climate services to address diarrheal disease burdens. It aims to develop interventions for managing diarrheal disease using climate services; to develop epidemiological methods; use co-design through community engagement, and support capacity strengthening for local adaptation. A consortium of partners from research institutions in the United States, UK, Chinese Taipei, India, Vietnam, Nepal, South Africa and Indonesia, will work together to undertake a comparative analysis of diarrhoeal disease risk associated with temperature and rainfall factors, ENSO, and extreme weather events.
Deliverables
Data mining, harvesting, web scraping
Deep data analysis with R and Python (Machine learning techniques)
Conducting in-depth interviews
Preparing interview transcripts
Scheduling & assisting in organizing meetings with Govt. and other stake-holders
Managing all the project related communications with internal and external stakeholders
Developing detailed reports from secondary and primary data
Developing Manuscripts
The Project involves some travel within Gujarat.
Any other activities/tasks as assigned by the PI or supervisor.
Qualification: Master level degree in Health and allied fields
Desirable: Formal education in research methods especially quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Experience: Minimum 01 to 02 years of work experience with academic writing skills. Candidate without work experience may be considered in case of excellent academic record.
