Job responsibilities

  • Support the RMBS research team in analyzing mortgage pools, deal structures, and market trends.
  • Manage, clean, and analyze large datasets using advanced Excel and programming tools (e.g., Python, SQL, R).
  • Develop and maintain quantitative models for prepayment, credit, and valuation analysis.
  • Contribute to regular and thematic research publications, including market commentary and deep-dive reports.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (trading, sales, technology) and respond to client requests.
  • Present research findings in a clear and compelling manner, both in writing and verbally.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory developments, market events, and new technologies relevant to the RMBS sector.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in securitized products research, fixed income analytics, mortgage analytics, or a similar quantitative/analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and at least one programming language (Python, R, or SQL preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience working with large and complex datasets; ability to automate data processing and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills.

  • Experience with RMBS or other securitized products (ABS, CMBS, CLOs).
  • Familiarity with mortgage data sources (e.g., Intex, Bloomberg, etc.) and market conventions.
  • Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks and market structure in securitized products.
