We?re seeking an Asterisk VoIP Developer who will be responsible for assessing, designing, upgrading, and maintaining systems as well as brainstorming possible improvements that can be made to a system in the future. What You'll Be Doing: Maintain and improve existing code and Asterisk addons Tune Asterisk performance, including CPU, memory usage, I/O Ensure VoIP systems availability and performance, proactive monitoring, and tuning Develop new third party integrations, from automation APIs to media stream mux Create and maintain dial plans Manages and monitors installed systems, Networks, and infrastructure for the organization to be in line with company guidelines or SOP (standard operating procedure). Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the Asterisk module as needed. Provide and communicate the best practices and specific detailed information for network hardware and software selection Provide planning for future capacity requirements Provide documentation as required to ensure accurate and current information is available Assists in the coordination of various teams testing and evaluating for the development of design and its implementation including network hardware and software selection, including present and future capacity requirements. Installs, configures, and tests operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Ensures the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability. Evaluate the existing systems and provide the technical direction to support staff. Willing to stay up-to-date with security best practices and drive implementation accordingly Collaborates with other professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures. Run diagnostics to resolve customer-reported issues Deals with work process, optimization methods, and risk management tools in the given projects for successful accomplishments according to the requirements of the stakeholders Who You Are: At least 2 years of experience in Asterisk system development, with a focus on module development and reporting tool customization Solid experience in C & C++ based multithreaded application development; minimum 5 years of experience Experience in development and troubleshooting in a Linux environment based on pthreads and locking primitives Experience in development on on a major asterisk module and Asterisk 11 Comfortable with gdb or equivalent and debugging problems associated with real time, multithreaded applications Experience with common linux C development tools such as well as profiling tools such as valgrind and gprof Experience working with AGI Wide knowledge of Real Time Communication protocols and technologies and stacks (SIP, SDP, WebRTC/RT, SRTP) Experience with MySQL Asterisk system development Strong experience with Wireshark and telephony protocol dissectors Experience with Python, Github, Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence), Jenkins/CircleCi would be helpful Experience with monitoring systems (Prometheus, Zabbix, ?) The candidate will need to be capable of quick and efficient self-study supported by peers on the Asterisk team Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl / Ruby / Python) Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux-based environments. Strong troubleshooting skill in different network layers, esp. layer 2 & layer 3 up to layer 7 Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g., Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, Haproxy or Env?)
