Release Engineer - Pune Exp. Level: 2 to 6 Years What does a successful Release Engineer do at Fiserv? At Fiserv, a successful Release Engineer ensures that our innovative financial solutions are deployed seamlessly and efficiently. By managing software releases across our full stack point of sale system, including custom hardware, OS, and Cloud-based POS software, the Release Engineer helps empower merchants from small mom-and-pop stores to large stadiums to process payments reliably and securely. What you will do: Manage technical software release workflows end-to-end through collaboration with technical architects, product owners, infrastructure support, QA, and external teams. Identify and implement efficiency improvements in the release process. Measure and monitor release progress to ensure timely delivery with minimal service disruptions. Communicate and supervise the release schedule for all applications, maintaining a release calendar. Manage risks and resolve issues related to release scope, schedule, and quality. Conduct release readiness reviews and milestone reviews. Maintain a release repository containing key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists. Represent the project team in weekly Change-Advisor Board (CAB) status meetings with information about release scope and/or impact. Tracking & Triaging open issues, Code Branch management, conducting Go/No Go meetings ( or at least supporting those meetings. This can include deployment support for web/server etc., supporting DB migration, Configuration management, experience working on GCP, creating and tracking server logs etc. What you will need to have: 3+ years of experience with Git. 3+ years of experience with Rundeck or Jenkins. 3+ years of experience deploying applications into production and lower environments. 3+ years of experience with PagerDuty or similar tools for alerting. Bachelor's degree in engineering. What would be great to have: 3+ years of experience with MySQL, including execution of DB migrations. 3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting. 3+ years of experience with DevOps tools such as Gerrit, Phabricator, or Puppet. Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle and quality control practices. Experience with project management practices, frameworks, and methodologies (Agile/Scrum/Waterfall).
