Regulatory Manager

Position: Regulatory Manager Location: Chennai

Job Description

• Responsible for managing end-to-end regulatory compliance, food safety systems, and quality processes ensuring adherence to FSSAI, Legal Metrology, and other applicable food standards
• Ensure regulatory compliance of products, label artwork, packaging, and digital media in line with FSSAI , Legal Metrology , Advertisement standards/rules
• Ensure compliance of products being imported and exported as per applicable standards
• Review and approve artwork, labels, advertisements, digital content, and claims with proper substantiation
• Manage FSSAI licensing through FoSCoS portal including approvals, amendments, and procedures
• Maintain repository of licenses, registrations, certifications and approvals
• Support Legal team in food safety, regulatory matters,and enforcement issues
• Conduct regulatory audits and ensure compliance of all units of operations
• Develop and implement regulatory checklists and ensure adherence across business teams
• Maintain tracker of sampling activities, authority communication, and follow-ups (PAN India)
• Support QMS/FSMS frameworks (ISO 9001, FSSC 22000)
• Provide regulatory assessment for NPD, innovation, and investment projects
• Planand execute internal, external, and supplier audits and drive CAPA closure
• Manage supplier audits, risk assessment, and vendor qualification
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations teams
• Manage interactions with regulatory authorities, distributors, consultants, and external stakeholders
• Driveprocess improvements, SOP development, and best practice implementation
• Provide regulatory guidance and support to internal teams

Experience

• 5 Plus years of experience in regulatory affairs, food safety, and compliance
• Hands-on experience in FSSAI licensing, FoSCoS portal management, approvals, and amendments
• Experience in FSMS, QMS, audit management, supplier audits, and CAPA
• Experience in dairy / food / beverage industry
• Knowledge of legal metrology, statutory compliances (factory license, PCB, etc.)

Education

o Bachelor's / Master's degree in: Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology , Nutrition / Life Sciences
