• Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of industrial/research/teaching experience, excluding experience gained during Ph.D.
• Maximum Age: 35 years.
• For School of Innovation (Assistant Professor Grade I & II and Associate Professor)
  
  

Assistant Professor Grade II – School of Innovation

• Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout.
• Desirable (in addition): Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Design/Architecture from a reputed Design University/Institute in India or abroad.
• Nature of Appointment: Contract basis.

Assistant Professor Grade I – School of Innovation

• Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of industrial/research/teaching experience, excluding Ph.D. experience.

Associate Professor – School of Innovation

• Educational Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout.
• Desirable (in addition): Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Design/Architecture from a reputed Design University/Institute in India or abroad.
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of teaching/industry/research experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of:
• Assistant Professor Grade I, or
• Senior Scientific Officer, or
• Senior Design Engineer.
  

Job/Position Description-

Indian Institute of Technology Indore, an Institute of National Importance and ranked in the top 12 engineering institutes under NIRF 2025, invites applications from Indian Nationals and OCIs for 38 faculty positions across various Departments/Schools. Positions are available at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade I & II) in multiple Departments/Schools and Associate Professor exclusively in the School of Innovation. Pay Structure (as per 7th CPC)

In addition, posts carry allowances such as DA, HRA, TA, LTC, Children Education Allowance, and NPS contributions as per Government of India rules applicable at Indore.

Major Support, Allowances and Facilities (Job Benefits)

• Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA): ₹3,00,000 for every 3-year block (reimbursable) for conference travel, professional body membership, and academic/research contingencies.
• Relocation Allowance:
• Up to ₹1,00,000 for those joining from abroad (self & spouse, goods transport).
• Up to ₹75,000 for those joining from within India (self & family, goods transport).
• Medical Facilities: Cashless OPD and IPD in leading hospitals in Indore and a well-equipped Institute Health Centre for employees and dependents.
• Children Education Allowance (CEA): For two eldest school-going children from nursery to class 12 at ₹2,812.5 per month per child (as per GoI norms).
• Communication Charges: Reimbursement as per Institute/GoI rules.
• Accommodation: Institute endeavours to provide suitable, on-campus accommodation (in lieu of HRA, subject to availability). Up to 21 days stay in Guest House/House of Residence on joining with nominal charges.

• Special Research and Innovation Grants for Young Faculty:
• Young Faculty International Dream Lab Research Experience Grant: up to ₹5,00,000 for high-end research training abroad.
• Promotion of Research & Innovation with UG students: up to ₹5,00,000 to work closely with UG students.
• Research Seed Grant for Best Technology Development: ₹2,00,000 each for 5 best technologies towards commercialization.

• Reservation for SC/ST/OBC–NCL/PwD/EWS as per Government of India rules.
• EWS candidates must submit valid Income and Asset Certificate in prescribed format.
