Job Description

To plan, lead, and execute sales and marketing strategies for industrial, agricultural, and domestic pump products, with the objective of increasing market share, strengthening dealer/distributor networks, achieving revenue targets, and enhancing brand presence in assigned regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy & Business Development
  • Develop and implement annual and monthly sales plans aligned with company goals.
  • Identify new markets, OEMs, institutional buyers, and project opportunities.
  • Achieve sales targets (volume, value, and collections) for pumps and spare parts.
  • Build strong relationships with distributors, dealers, consultants, and key customers.
  • Explore opportunities in government tenders, irrigation projects, and industrial segments.
  • Channel & Dealer Management
  • Appoint, manage, and motivate dealers, distributors, and sub-dealers.
  • Monitor dealer performance and support them in achieving targets.
  • Resolve dealer complaints related to pricing, supply, service, and warranty.
  • Conduct dealer meetings, product launches, and incentive schemes.
  • Marketing & Brand Promotion
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns, exhibitions, and trade fairs.
  • Coordinate creation of catalogues, brochures, price lists, and technical datasheets.
  • Analyze competitor products, pricing, and market positioning.
  • Promote brand visibility through field activities, digital marketing, and ATL/BTL activities.
  • Product Promotion & Technical Support
  • Train sales team, dealers, and customers on pump selection, applications, and advantages.
  • Coordinate with the technical, production, and service teams for smooth execution of orders.
  • Support the sales team in technical discussions, demos, and project negotiations.
  • Team Management
  • Lead, train, and monitor sales executives, area sales managers, and marketing staff.
  • Assign targets, review performance, and conduct regular sales reviews.
  • Guide the team on daily reporting, follow-ups, and customer engagement.
  • MIS, Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly sales MIS.
  • Track sales pipeline, order status, dispatches, and payment collections.
  • Analyze sales trends, region-wise performance, and growth opportunities.
  • Coordination & Internal Communication
  • Coordinate with production, dispatch, finance, and service departments.
  • Ensure timely order processing, delivery, installation, and after-sales support.
  • Work closely with service team to improve customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of pump products (industrial/agricultural/domestic).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage large dealer networks and field sales teams.
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution capability.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, CRM systems, and MIS reporting.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Marketing / Business Administration.
  • MBA (Sales & Marketing) preferred.

Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in sales & marketing within pump manufacturing / electrical / engineering products industry.
  • Proven experience in dealer/channel sales and project sales.
