Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly driven and technically strong R&D Lead to spearhead the development of advanced hardware and software systems for next-generation autonomous platforms, UAVs, robotics, and intelligent embedded solutions. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end product innovation, system architecture, prototyping, testing, and deployment while managing cross-functional engineering teams across hardware, embedded systems, autonomy, AI, and software domains.
Key Responsibilities
R&D Leadership
- Lead the complete R&D lifecycle from concept, prototyping, validation, and deployment of hardware and software products.
- Define technical roadmap, architecture strategy, and innovation direction aligned with business goals.
- Drive research initiatives in robotics, autonomous systems, embedded platforms, AI, and intelligent automation.
- Conduct feasibility studies, technology evaluations, and product optimization initiatives.
Hardware Development
- Oversee design and integration of embedded systems, avionics, sensors, PCBs, payloads, communication modules, and power systems.
- Lead hardware prototyping, testing, calibration, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, manufacturability, and compliance with industry and defense standards.
- Manage BOM optimization, vendor coordination, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Operates different kinds of UAVs incuding FixedWing, FPVS, VTOLs etc.
Software & Autonomy Development
- Lead development of autonomy stacks, real-time software systems, and mission-critical applications.
- Oversee implementation of ROS/ROS2-based systems, computer vision pipelines, SLAM/V-SLAM, sensor fusion, and AI-driven navigation.
- Drive software architecture, code quality, version control, testing frameworks, and deployment processes.
- Develop intelligent systems involving AI, deep learning, computer vision, and autonomous decision-making.
Team & Project Management
- Manage and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, software, AI, embedded systems, and testing.
- Ensure timely project execution, technical reviews, documentation, and milestone tracking.
- Coordinate with leadership, operations, and product teams for execution and commercialization.
- Lead field trials, validation activities, and deployment readiness reviews.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare technical documentation, proposals, architecture documents, SOPs, and compliance reports.
- Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards during development and deployment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Information Technology, or related field.
4+ years of experience in R&D, autonomous systems, embedded systems, robotics, or UAV technologies.
Strong expertise in:
C++, Python, Linux, Embedded Systems
ROS/ROS2 and robotics frameworks
Computer Vision, Deep Learning, OpenCV
SLAM, Sensor Fusion, Navigation Systems
UAV Systems and Autonomous Platforms
Real-Time Systems and Multithreading
Experience with LiDAR, IMU, Cameras, Payload Integration, and avionics systems.
Strong leadership, technical architecture, and project management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on defense, surveillance, logistics, or autonomous mobility solutions.
Hands-on experience in GPS-denied navigation and AI-driven autonomy.
Exposure to production-grade robotics or drone deployment environments.
Experience handling cross-functional R&D teams and product commercialization.
