What Do We Expect From You

We’re looking for a talented, detail-oriented, and passionate Quality Specialist to join our team and support quality management initiatives, process improvement programs, and compliance activities across Rakuten Symphony.

The role will be responsible for supporting Quality Management System (QMS) implementation and maintenance, ISO 9001 compliance activities, process documentation, internal audits, quality reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for driving operational excellence through structured quality practices.

The role collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders across product, engineering, and operations teams. It offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth, providing exposure to enterprise quality management systems, process governance, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives within a rapidly expanding, international organization like Rakuten Symphony.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management System (QMS) Support

  1. Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 requirements.
  2. Maintain quality documentation including policies, procedures, work instructions, process maps, and quality records.
  3. Coordinate with Business Units to collect, review, and maintain documented information required for quality compliance.
  4. Support document control activities to ensure quality documentation remains current, accurate, and compliant.


2. ISO 9001 Compliance & Internal Audits

  1. Support ISO 9001 implementation, certification, surveillance, and recertification activities across business units.
  2. Assist in planning and coordinating internal quality audits and support external certification audits.
  3. Track audit findings, corrective actions, preventive actions, and closure activities with relevant stakeholders.
  4. Monitor compliance with quality policies, procedures, and organizational standards.


3. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  1. Identify opportunities to improve business processes using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  2. Support process mapping, gap analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  3. Monitor quality metrics and KPIs, preparing reports for management review.
  4. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce process variation, and improve customer satisfaction.


4. Training & Quality Awareness

  1. Support quality awareness programs and employee training on QMS processes, ISO 9001 requirements, and quality best practices.
  2. Assist in developing training materials and maintaining training records.
  3. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality across the organization.
  4. Support cross-functional quality initiatives and contribute to organizational process maturity.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in Quality Management, Process Excellence, Quality Assurance, Operations, Compliance, or related functions.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Project Management) OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Quality Systems: Basic understanding of ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems (QMS), quality documentation, internal audits, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement practices.
  • Process Improvement: Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, process improvement tools, root cause analysis, and quality metrics.
  • Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Exposure to SharePoint, Jira, Power BI, or other reporting and collaboration tools is an advantage.
  • Communication: Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing, implementing, and optimizing governance frameworks. Ability to balance process integrity with product team realities (practical flexibility).
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification, Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt or other relevant certifications.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentation and governance processes.
  • Internship or project experience related to quality management, business process improvement, or operational excellence.
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience or exposure to telecommunications, technology, software, or engineering organizations.
