Job Description
The Head– Quality will lead the complete Quality function across Supplier Quality, Incoming Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Customer Quality, Warranty, and Quality Systems.
The role requires a hands-on leader who can work closely with Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Service, and customers to ensure robust quality systems throughout the product lifecycle. The position demands both strategic thinking and day-to-day operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership
- Lead the organization's Quality function and define the Quality roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Develop a strong quality culture across all functions.
- Build scalable quality systems to support business growth.
Quality Systems
- Ensure full compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and customer-specific requirements.
- Lead internal, customer, certification, process, product and supplier audits.
- Drive continual improvement of the Quality Management System.
Manufacturing Quality
- Drive zero-defect manufacturing and improve First Pass Yield.
- Reduce internal rejection and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Establish robust process controls and manufacturing discipline, in coordination with Production and Manufacturing Engineering.
Supplier Quality
- Develop supplier quality systems and improve supplier capability and PPM.
- Lead supplier audits, qualification and development activities.
- Responsible for Supplier PPAP
Customer Quality
- Lead customer quality reviews and own resolution of customer complaints and field issues.
- Drive structured root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions (8D).
- Improve customer satisfaction and warranty performance.
- Responsible for All customer PPAP
New Product Development
- Lead quality activities during new product development and industrialization.
- Drive APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC.
- Support successful program launches.
Continuous Improvement
- Promote Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies; drive Kaizen and operational excellence initiatives.
- Establish data-driven quality dashboards and review mechanisms.
Key Performance Indicators
- Customer PPM and Supplier PPM
- Internal Rejection and First Pass Yield (FPY)
- Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and Warranty Claims
- Audit Compliance and On-Time PPAP Approval
- Customer Satisfaction and Supplier Development
Candidate Profile — Mandatory
- 15–20 years of experience in Automotive or Electric Vehicle manufacturing.
- Engineering graduate (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Production or equivalent).
- Proven experience with Electric Motors, Motor Controllers, Inverters, Power Electronics or EV Powertrain Systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with IATF 16949 implementation and audits.
- Experience leading Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Customer Quality and Quality Systems.
- Strong working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, 8D and statistical problem-solving techniques.
- Experience interacting directly with Automotive OEMs.
