Job Title: Quality Head – Toolroom (Die Casting)

Department: Quality

Location: Pimpri, Pune

Reporting To: Plant Head / Operations Head

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the overall quality function for the toolroom handling HPDC (High Pressure Die Casting), LPDC (Low Pressure Die Casting), and GDC (Gravity Die Casting) processes. Ensure adherence to quality standards, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management & Strategy

·        Develop and implement quality strategies aligned with business goals

·        Establish and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS)

·        Ensure compliance with standards like ISO 9001 / IATF 16949

·        Lead internal and external audits

2. Toolroom & Die Quality Control

·        Monitor quality of dies used in HPDC, LPDC, and GDC processes

·        Ensure die performance, life, and maintenance quality

·        Approve new tool development and validation (trial reports, PPAP)

·        Handle dimensional and metallurgical inspection standards

3. Process Quality Assurance

·        Establish process control plans, PFMEA, and SOPs

·        Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap levels

·        Drive root cause analysis using tools like 8D, Why-Why, Fishbone

·        Ensure process capability (Cp, Cpk) improvement

4. Customer Quality Management

·        Handle customer complaints and ensure timely closure

·        Lead customer audits and quality reviews

·        Ensure adherence to customer-specific requirements

·        Maintain customer satisfaction and quality ratings

5. Team Leadership

·        Lead and develop the quality team (Engineers, Inspectors)

·        Conduct training on quality tools and standards

·        Set KPIs and monitor team performance

6. Supplier Quality

·        Evaluate and develop suppliers for raw material and tooling

·        Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews

·        Ensure incoming material quality compliance

7. Continuous Improvement

·        Drive Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma initiatives

·        Implement Poka-Yoke and mistake-proofing techniques

·        Reduce cost of poor quality (COPQ)

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

·        Rejection & PPM levels

·        Customer complaints & closure time

·        Audit scores (Internal/External)

·        Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)

·        On-time PPAP approvals
