Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute Quality control and Quality Assurance best practices
• Ensure all manufacturing and fabrication processes comply with RDSO guidelines and ISO standards
• Perform quality trouble shooting and problem solving
• Ensure that corrective actions are delivered and non-compliance issuesare resolved on time
• Enforce compliance with internal procedures to ensure thatestablished quality and process procedures are being followed by the appropriate personnel at all times
• Verify that wagons are built exactly according to approved engineering blueprints
• Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met andadhering to approved budgets
• Develop and maintain strong relationships withinternal and external stakeholders to ensureoptimal performance
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage withkey stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance withthe quality strategy
• Inspect and evaluate incoming material and bought-out parts
• Monitor critical welding processes on wagons and assemblies, enforce and interpret Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
• Ensure dimensional compliance through checking, analytics and quality planning
• Check surface cleanliness, grit blasting quality and dry film thickness (DFT) of paint
• Implement Lean manufacturing and 5S principles to reduce production time and minimize material wastage
