Role Summary

The Quality Manager/Head will lead all quality-related functions within the organization. This includes implementing and maintaining quality systems, conducting audits, handling customer complaints, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (like IATF 16949, ISO 9001,14001,45001), and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management Systems:

  • Lead implementation and compliance of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Act as Management Representative for all ISO/IATF certifications.
  • Plan, conduct, and review internal quality audits and ensure closure of non-conformities.

Production & Process Oversight

  • Oversee process audits and quality checks for all incoming raw materials and finished products.
  • Benchmark specifications and standards in coordination with Marketing and Production teams.
  • Assign and monitor tasks of Quality Supervisors across shifts.

Customer Quality & Complaint Management

  • Handle customer complaints using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA).
  • Liaise with customers to understand and fulfil quality requirements and audit expectations.

People Management & Training

  • Identify training needs and organize technical, behavioural, and safety training programs.
  • Mentor the QA team and cultivate a high-performance quality culture.

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

  • Lead quality improvement and cost-saving projects using tools like Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, etc.
  • Maintain calibration of all quality testing instruments.
  • Ensure housekeeping and safety compliance across the plant.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare and present Quality MIS reports such as CAPA status, customer complaints, and Quality KPIs.
  • Drive strategic planning for yearly quality objectives and quarterly reviews.

Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical or Electrical (Mandatory)

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years in QA/QC within the automobile, electrical, process, or manufacturing industry.
  • Must have prior experience as a Quality Manager or Head of Department.

Essential Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
  • Proficiency in Quality Tools: 7 QC Tools, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Poka-Yoke, 8D, RCA, CAPA.
  • Strong people and crisis management skills.
  • Excellent communication, delegation, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi (written and verbal).

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, and other productivity improvement methodologies.
  • Strong motivation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead audits, engage in cross-functional coordination, and maintain a harmonious work environment.
