As SAN Automotive continues to grow, we are looking for capable and detail-oriented quality professionals who can strengthen inspection systems, maintain product quality, and support customer requirements.


Position Overview

The QA Engineer will be responsible for handling inspection activities, quality checks, process quality monitoring, documentation, and coordination with production and quality teams.

The ideal candidate should have experience in the sheet metal industry, especially in inspection of stamped, fabricated, and welded components. The role requires strong attention to detail, basic technical understanding, and the ability to work in a plant/manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities1. Inspection and Quality Checking
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspection of sheet metal components.
  • Check dimensions, visual defects, burrs, bends, weld quality, surface condition, and product finish.
  • Use basic measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, gauges, and inspection fixtures.
  • Ensure components meet customer drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Identify and report non-conforming material.

  • 2. In-Process Quality Control
    • Monitor quality during press shop, fabrication, and welding operations.
    • Coordinate with production teams to control defects during manufacturing.
    • Verify process parameters and inspection checkpoints.
    • Support operators and supervisors in maintaining product quality.
    • Escalate repeated quality issues to the Quality Manager.

  • 3. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain inspection reports, rejection reports, check sheets, and quality records.
    • Prepare daily quality reports and submit them to senior quality personnel.
    • Maintain customer-wise inspection data and rejection records.
    • Support documentation for internal and customer audits.
    • Ensure all inspection records are updated and properly filed.

  • 4. Customer Quality Support
    • Support the quality team in responding to customer quality concerns.
    • Assist in sorting, rework, containment, and defect analysis.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
    • Help ensure customer complaints are addressed on time.

  • 5. Coordination with Departments
    • Coordinate with production, dispatch, NPD, tool room, and quality teams.
    • Communicate quality issues clearly to concerned departments.
    • Follow up on corrective actions and process improvements.
    • Support smooth movement of inspected and approved material.


    Qualifications and Requirements
    • Diploma / ITI / Graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Production, Quality, or related field.
    • 3–5 years of experience in QA or inspection activity.
    • Experience in sheet metal, fabrication, stamping, welding, or automotive component industry preferred.
    • Knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection methods.
    • Ability to read basic engineering drawings.
    • Good communication skills in Hindi and basic English.
    • Comfortable working in a plant environment.
    • Basic computer knowledge and ability to maintain reports.

  • Preferred Skills
    • Experience in press shop and weld shop inspection.
    • Knowledge of customer quality requirements.
    • Understanding of rejection analysis and defect prevention.
    • Ability to maintain inspection records and quality documents.
    • Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, and basic quality systems.
