Job Title: Quality Analyst / Test Engineer (Web and Mobile Applications) Location: Kolkata Job Type: Full-Time Industry: Insurance, BFSI, Any Job Summary: We are looking for a Quality Analyst / Test Engineer to ensure the highest quality of web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in manual testing. Familiarity with automation testing processes and experience/exposure of setting up such framework scratch would be highly desirable. This role involves testing a wide range of digital products and applications, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to ensure timely delivery of high-performance software. Key Responsibilities: ? Manual Testing: Execute functional, regression, and integration tests for web and mobile applications to ensure the highest quality standards. Conduct Triage session with stakeholders as necessary. ? Automation Testing: Assist in the development and execution of automated tests for both web and mobile applications ? Test Planning & Documentation: Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications. ? Bug Tracking & Reporting: Identify, log, and track defects in bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira or excel based) and communicate issues effectively to all stakeholders. ? Cross-Platform Testing: Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent performance and behaviour across different environments. ? Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure proper test coverage. ? Continuous Improvement: Suggest improvements to existing testing processes and practices to optimize the testing lifecycle and ensure higher quality results. ? Performance & Load Testing: Conduct performance testing to assess application scalability, stability, and response time under load. Primary Skills (Required): ? Strong knowledge of manual testing techniques, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing. ? Experience using test management and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, Quality Center / similar platforms or Excel Based). ? Ability to present clear, concise, and actionable testing metrics to various stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and senior leadership. ? Experience with mobile application testing on Android and/or iOS and platforms. ? Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD processes using tools (Jenkins, Gitlab CI or similar) to manage Releases. ? Any formal bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira or similar). ? Handson experience of API testing (e.g., Postman, RestAssured). ? Some exposure to Security testing for Web applications (guided by OWASP) Secondary Skills (Preferred): ? Hands-on experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress, etc.) is a definite plus. ? Experience in performance-Load testing and associated tools (JMeter, Loadrunner etc). ? Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies. Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). ? Total of 3-5 years of experience in software testing with a focus on web and mobile applications. ? Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. ? Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. ? Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
