QA - Set-Top Box (STB) Testing

Experience: 4?6 years Location: Noida 125 Email to apply: [email protected] We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer with hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing for Set-Top Boxes (STB), DTV, IPTV, or OTT devices. The candidate should have strong knowledge of embedded systems testing, automation frameworks, scripting, and broadcast/streaming standards. Manual Testing Execute end-to-end testing of Set-Top Boxes including: Channel tuning, EPG, PVR, VOD, middleware & UI flows CAS/DRM functionality, live TV, time-shift, playback Remote control (IR/BT) functionality HDMI/AV/USB port testing Firmware upgrade, factory reset, pairing & installation Validate video/audio playback quality, OTT app behaviour, and performance. Perform network testing (WiFi, LAN, hotspot, Ethernet). Capture and analyse logs through UART/serial console. Conduct regression, stability, long-duration, and performance tests. Document test cases, scenarios, and bug reports. Automation Testing Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for STB features. Work with automation frameworks like Python, Robot Framework, PyTest , or similar. Automate UI navigation, channel change, OTT navigation, stress tests, and device interactions. Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred). Analyse automation results and improve reliability of test suites. Skills and Requirement 4?6 years of experience in STB/DTV/IPTV/OTT device testing. Strong hands-on experience in manual testing of embedded devices. Experience in automation scripting using Python or Robot Framework. Deep understanding of: DVB, MPEG-TS, OTT streaming CAS/DRM systems HDMI/HDCP protocols Networking protocols related to STB Experience with tools like JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr. Ability to read logs, debug issues, and work with developers. Strong documentation and communication skill Good to have Experience automating tests using serial commands, IR blasters, or Bluetooth controllers. Knowledge of codecs (H.264, H.265), streaming protocols (HLS, DASH). Exposure to Linux command-line and embedded systems architecture. Experience testing OTT apps (YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime) on STBs.
