About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with 4+ years of experience to strengthen quality engineering practices and ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python-based automation using PyTest, UI automation with Selenium and Playwright, API testing, and experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines. This role requires a balanced approach to both automation and manual testing while working collaboratively within Agile development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation test scripts using Python and PyTest.
• Build, enhance, and maintain robust UI automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and Playwright.
• Develop reliable UI automation by creating efficient locators using ID, CSS Selectors, and XPath, including handling dynamic XPath expressions.
• Design, develop, and execute API automation tests for RESTful services, including JSON response validation.
• Create, execute, and maintain manual test cases for functional validation where required (approximately 40% manual testing).
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure product quality.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using standard defect management processes.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of automation frameworks, testing strategies, and quality engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in QA Automation and Manual Testing.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Python.
• Proficiency in PyTest for automation test development.
• Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver and Playwright for UI automation.
• Strong understanding of UI element identification using ID, CSS Selectors, XPath, and dynamic locator strategies.
• Experience in REST API testing and JSON response validation.
• Hands-on experience with load testing methodologies and tools.
• Strong understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) and defect tracking processes.
• Experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing, enhancing, or maintaining automation testing frameworks.
• Exposure to testing LLM (Large Language Model) based applications or AI-powered systems.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques.
• Experience working with Docker and cloud-based environments.
• Prior experience in fast-paced product-based companies or startup environments.
