QA Architect (10+ Years)

We’re looking for a QA Architect with 10+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering to lead the test strategy, automation architecture, and quality governance across complex, distributed systems. The ideal candidate has deep, hands-on expertise with Cypress and modern test automation frameworks, with a track record of enabling scalable, reliable, and maintainable testing across web, API, and microservices.

• Own the QA architecture & strategy for multiple products, aligning with engineering and product roadmaps.
  
• Design and evolve automation frameworks, with a strong focus on Cypress (component, E2E, cross-browser, visual testing).
  
• Drive shift-left quality: static analysis, contract testing, and early pipeline quality gates.
  
• Define and standardize test methodologies (E2E, integration, API, contract, performance, security smoke).
  
• CI/CD Integration: Embed tests in pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps), optimize for speed, stability, and parallelization.
  
• Champion quality metrics & observability (flaky test rate, reliability, coverage-by-risk, DORA-aligned defect escape rate).
  
• Partner with Dev/DevOps to ensure testability, data strategy, and environment reliability (mocking, service virtualization).
  
• Mentor SDETs/QA, conduct code reviews, and establish best practices in JavaScript/TypeScript test automation.
  
• Collaborate on non-functional testing (performance baselines, resilience, accessibility standards).
  
• Evaluate and introduce tools and practices (Allure/ReportPortal, Playwright, Pact, REST Assured, Cypress Component Testing).
  
  

• Automation Leadership: 10+ years in QA with 4+ years architecting large-scale test frameworks.
  
• Cypress Expertise: Deep hands-on in Cypress (TypeScript preferred), custom commands, fixtures, retries, parallelization, test data, CI pipelines.
  
• Programming: Strong in JavaScript/TypeScript (bonus: Java/Python).
  
• API Testing: REST/GraphQL using Postman/newman, SuperTest, REST Assured, or similar.
  
• CI/CD: Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps, Docker; artifact/versioning best practices.
  
• Quality by Design: Risk-based testing, contract testing (Pact or equivalent), test pyramid/diamond strategy.
  
• Reporting & Analytics: Allure/ReportPortal/Extent; quality gates, dashboards, and actionable insights.
  
• Collaboration: Excellent stakeholder management, mentoring, and documentation skills.
  
  

• Playwright, Selenium Grid, WebdriverIO.
  
• Performance testing (k6, JMeter) & basic security checks (ZAP/Burp CI scans).
  
• Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers (Docker/K8s), service meshes.
  
• BDD (Cucumber), accessibility (axe), visual regression (Percy/Applitools).
  
• Experience in microservices, event-driven architectures, and service virtualization (WireMock, Mountebank).
  
  

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, IT, or equivalent experience.
  
• Proven success architecting automation at scale and improving release quality/cycle time.
