Job Description – Software Engineer (Python / Node.js / Test Automation / AI)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in Python, Node.js, test automation, and AI-enabled application development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in backend development, automation frameworks, Behavior Driven Development (BDD), scripting, database technologies, and exposure to Azure OpenAI and other Large Language Model (LLM) services.

This role involves designing, developing, automating, and maintaining scalable software solutions while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and Node.js.
• Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable software components.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Pytest and Squish.
• Implement Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices using tools such as Behave or Cucumber.
• Create automation scripts using PowerShell and Batch scripting for deployment, testing, and system administration tasks.
• Work with MariaDB and MongoDB to design, optimize, and maintain application databases.
• Develop and enhance applications using C# where required.
• Integrate applications with Azure OpenAI and other LLM services to build AI-powered features.
• Design RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and Architects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release automation.

Required Skills

• 4–6 years of software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js.
• Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Pytest automation framework.
• Experience with Squish for GUI test automation.
• Good scripting knowledge using PowerShell and Batch scripting.
• Experience working with MariaDB (Relational Database).
• Experience working with MongoDB (NoSQL Database).
• Good programming knowledge in C#.
• Experience integrating applications with Azure OpenAI and other LLM services.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and JSON.
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Cloud services.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Understanding of AI-assisted development and prompt engineering.
• Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
