Role Summary

We are seeking a senior Python Technical Lead (L5) who will act as the architectural backbone and technical owner of backend systems. This role demands deep hands-on Python expertise, strong GCP experience, and the ability to lead engineering teams through complex, high-scale backend challenges.

The ideal candidate will balance hands-on coding, architecture, and technical leadership, while working closely with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient systems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Own architecture and design of high-performance backend systems using Python (FastAPI / Flask)
• Define and drive GCP best practices across services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL / Spanner
• Propose and execute architectural improvements to enhance scalability, resilience, and security
• Establish and enforce coding standards, security practices, and design patterns

Team Leadership & Delivery

• Act as hands-on technical lead, owning complex features and production debugging
• Lead code reviews, ensuring quality, maintainability, and CI/CD compliance
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines and DevOps integration for faster, reliable releases

Stakeholder & Project Collaboration

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for product managers, designers, and clients
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features on time and at scale

Mandatory Skills (Must Have)

• 12+ years of overall software development experience
• 10+ years of strong, hands-on Python backend development
• Strong experience with FastAPI (highly preferred) or Flask
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience designing high-concurrency REST APIs
• Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and System Design
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead / Lead Developer for teams of 4+ engineers

Good-to-Have / Bonus Skills

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE)
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Pulumi
• Frontend exposure (React / Angular / Vue.js) for cross-team collaboration
