Python Developer

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer (with Java exposure) to join our client’s technology team supporting enterprise banking applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python backend development, working knowledge of Java, and experience delivering secure, scalable applications within the banking or financial services industry.

This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical systems while collaborating closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs using Python.
• Enhance and support existing Java-based applications and participate in modernization initiatives.
• Develop secure, high-performance solutions that comply with banking and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate applications with internal and external systems using APIs, messaging services, and databases.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following software engineering best practices.
• Participate in system design, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other technology teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release activities.
• Prepare technical documentation and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python for backend application development.
• Working experience with Java and the ability to support or enhance Java applications.
• Experience developing REST APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Django, or Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the banking or financial services industry will be an advantage
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability tools.
