OCR & Data Extraction Models Location: Chennai, India Experience: 4+ years Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent Notice Period : Immediate to less than 30days About the Role We are looking for a skilled Python Developer with strong experience in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and data extraction models to join our technology team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying intelligent data processing solutions that extract structured information from unstructured documents and images. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize OCR-based data extraction pipelines using Python. Implement and fine-tune models leveraging libraries like Tesseract , EasyOCR , OpenCV , or PaddleOCR . Build and maintain data preprocessing , feature extraction , and document parsing workflows. Integrate OCR systems with internal APIs and databases for automated data flow. Work with machine learning models to improve text recognition accuracy and performance. Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable solutions. Conduct performance testing, error analysis, and continuous optimization of extraction models. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 4+ years of hands-on experience in Python development. Proven expertise in OCR technologies (e.g., Tesseract, OpenCV, EasyOCR, PaddleOCR). Experience with NLP and text analytics frameworks (e.g., spaCy, NLTK, Transformers) is a plus. Strong understanding of computer vision concepts , image preprocessing , and deep learning . Familiarity with TensorFlow , PyTorch , or similar ML frameworks. Experience integrating models into production environments (REST APIs, Flask/FastAPI, etc.). Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with document layout analysis , PDF parsing , and handwritten text recognition (HTR) . Exposure to cloud-based AI services (AWS Textract, Google Vision, Azure Form Recognizer). Knowledge of Docker , Git , and CI/CD pipelines .
