Job Title: Python Senior Backend Engineer
Location: Bengaluru (Preferred) / Remote (India)
Work Mode: Hybrid/Remote (India-based working hours with US overlap)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Python Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing backend systems for a next-generation weather forecasting product, working closely with cross-functional teams in India and the US.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs.
  • Modify and enhance existing API endpoints.
  • Develop new endpoints to support evolving product requirements.
  • Optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, frontend engineers, and product managers.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
  • Ensure high-quality code through testing, documentation, and best practices.
  • Contribute to building and improving data processing workflows involving geospatial data.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of strong experience in backend engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python and backend development frameworks.
  • Strong experience with:
  • Pytest
  • Flask
  • API Development
  • Swagger/OpenAPI
  • GitHub
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience working with US-based product startups.
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Basic experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with Cursor.
  • Experience with xarray and geospatial coordinates (or willingness to learn).
  • Exposure to data-intensive or scientific computing applications.
Working Hours
  • Primarily aligned with India Standard Time (IST).
  • Required overlap of 2–3 hours with US Eastern Time in the morning (up to 10:00 PM–11:00 PM IST).

You will be part of a team building a next-generation weather forecasting platform, leveraging modern backend technologies, geospatial data, and scalable API-driven architecture to deliver high-impact solutions.
