Python Backend Developer

We’re building an AI-native shopping assistant and looking for backend engineers who enjoy solving real problems, building reliable systems, and shipping features that users actually use.

Backend Engineer – What You'll Do

• You’ll work on the core systems that power Zave, especially the checkout layer where real transactions happen. This is where users apply vouchers, complete purchases, interact with partner systems, and expect everything to work flawlessly.

• Your work will involve integrating voucher providers, payment systems, and external commerce partners while building a backend that is fast, reliable, and scalable.

You’ll collaborate closely with AI and product teams to:

• Build and scale backend APIs using Python

• Design data models for users, carts, orders, vouchers, and transactions

• Build the checkout infrastructure for purchases, discounts, and partner integrations

• Integrate with payment gateways, voucher systems, and external APIs

• Manage complex data flows from product discovery to final checkout

• Support AI-driven features where backend systems interact with LLM pipelines

• Improve performance, reliability, and observability across services

• Build modular backend services that scale with product growth

We’re looking for engineers comfortable with:

• Python backend development (FastAPI, Flask, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy)

• API design and clean service architecture

• PostgreSQL and strong database modelling fundamentals

• Redis for caching and performance optimization

• NoSQL systems like MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra

• Messaging systems and background processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Celery)

• Async processing and event-driven systems

• Docker and container-based development

• Kubernetes exposure and cloud deployments

• Nginx and load balancing fundamentals

• Monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana

• CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments

• You’ve seen systems break and know how to debug them in production

• You understand scaling, bottlenecks, and performance tradeoffs
