Purchasing Manager

Manager- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement will be responsible for leading the plants end-to-end procurement and sourcing functions. The role will focus on developing sourcing strategies, optimizing costs, strengthening supplier partnerships, driving digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of materials to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilitie

Strategic Procurement & Sourcin

• Develop and implement organization-wide sourcing and procurement strategies
• Lead end-to-end procurement activities for direct and indirect materials
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive procurement excellence initiatives
• Establish long-term sourcing plans aligned with business growth objectives
• Conduct market intelligence and benchmarking to support strategic sourcing decisions

Vendor Development & Management

• Build, manage, and strengthen a robust global and domestic supplier network
• Evaluate supplier performance through KPIs related to quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness
• Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and strategic agreements with suppliers
• Develop alternate sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risks

Cost Optimization

• Drive annual cost reduction and value engineering initiatives
• Lead negotiations for raw materials, fabricated components, engineering services, and capital equipment
• Monitor commodity trends and implement appropriate procurement strategies
• Ensure optimal inventory levels while balancing operational requirements

Supply Chain & Inventory Governance

• Collaborate with Planning, Production, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure seamless material availability
• Drive inventory optimization initiatives and working capital improvements
• Establish governance mechanisms for procurement processes and compliance.

Digital Transformation

• Lead procurement digitization and automation initiatives
• Implement procurement analytics, dashboards, and performance monitoring systems
• Utilize ERP systems and procurement tools to improve efficiency and visibility

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop procurement and sourcing teams
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
• Facilitate succession planning and capability development within the department

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices
• Manage procurement audits and supplier compliance programs
• Establish strong procurement controls and risk management practices

Required Qualification

Educational QualificatioN

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering
• MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Procurement, or related field preferred

Experience

• 10-15 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Purchase Management
• Experience in Heavy Fabrication, Engineering, Manufacturing, Capital Equipment, or Industrial Products industries
