About the Role

We are seeking a commercially driven and detail-oriented Purchase Manager for procurement activities across packaging materials and related operational requirements.

This is an individual contributor role requiring strong negotiation capability, vendor management expertise, and disciplined follow-through. The role will be responsible for sourcing and managing procurement of bottles, labels, caps, cartons, packaging materials, spare parts, and machinery as required.

The ideal candidate should bring strong cost control discipline, supply chain awareness, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

• Source and procure packaging materials including bottles, labels, caps, cartons, and allied components
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors
• Build and maintain long-term vendor relationships
• Conduct vendor performance reviews and ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards

Commercial Negotiation & Cost Control

• Lead pricing negotiations to achieve cost optimisation
• Ensure competitive pricing aligned with market benchmarks
• Drive annual cost reduction initiatives
• Monitor raw material price fluctuations and mitigate risk exposure

Procurement Planning & Execution

• Align procurement with production schedules and inventory levels
• Ensure timely availability of packaging materials
• Monitor purchase orders from issuance to delivery
• Coordinate with internal teams to prevent stock-outs or overstocking

Spare Parts & Machinery Procurement

• Source spare parts and equipment components as required
• Coordinate machinery procurement in alignment with operational needs
• Ensure technical specifications are accurately aligned with vendor supply

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure procurement documentation is accurate and complete
• Maintain contract records and supplier agreements
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit standards

Risk Management & Supply Continuity

• Develop alternate vendor strategies
• Mitigate supply disruptions
• Monitor vendor financial stability and operational capability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement within FMCG, packaging, or manufacturing industries
• Proven experience handling packaging materials sourcing

• Must be competent: Tally ERP - 9
• Strong vendor negotiation capability
• Understanding of pricing structures and cost breakdowns
• Ability to drive cost optimisation without compromising quality

Procurement & Supply Chain Knowledge

• Strong understanding of packaging materials and FMCG operations
• Familiarity with inventory planning and procurement cycles
• Knowledge of spare parts and machinery sourcing processes
