Role Purpose

The Proposal Manager is responsible for leading the development of high-quality, customized proposals for pharmaceutical CDMO projects. This role ensures proposals align with client requirements, company capabilities, and strategic objectives, driving business growth and client satisfaction.

Department: Business Development / Customer Development

Location: Budapest

Reports To: Head of Proposition Management

Key Responsibilities

  • Proposal Development & Strategy
  • Manage the end-to-end proposal process for complex CDMO projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (technical, regulatory, finance, operations, BD) to design tailored solutions.
  • Client Engagement
  • Serve as the primary contact during the proposal phase, clarifying requirements and negotiating scope, lead the customer visits and CAP calls (Custom advisory plan).
  • Content Ownership
  • Prepare comprehensive proposals including technical approach, timelines, costing, supports pricing, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure proposals meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Performance Metrics
  • Monitor KPIs such as win rate, proposal turnaround time, and client feedback.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to translate customer and market insights into actionable business opportunities.
  • Financial acumen and understanding of pricing and profitability.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in proposal management, project management, marketing or commercial strategy within pharma or CDMO environment.
  • Strong understanding of drug development and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
