Job Description
The Project Monitoring and Control professional is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining effective systems for planning, progress tracking, performance evaluation, and reporting across all phases of the Transmission Line Project. The role ensures that the project is executed in line with approved schedules, budgets, and quality standards while enabling early identification and mitigation of risks or delays.
The incumbent acts as a central coordination and analytical function between the engineering, procurement, construction, and site execution teams. He/she develops and maintains detailed project schedules, dashboards, and progress tracking tools using modern project management methodologies and software such as Primavera (P6) or MS Project. The role involves consolidating information from multiple work fronts — including foundation, tower erection, stringing, and substation works — to monitor project health and ensure timely corrective actions.
A key part of the responsibility includes variance analysis, resource utilization review, and cost/schedule integration. The professional also prepares periodic progress reports, performance indices (SPI/CPI), and management dashboards for internal review and client submission. Coordination with site teams for data validation, highlighting critical path activities, and initiating recovery plans where deviations occur are integral to the role.
The Project Monitoring and Control Engineer/Manager ensures that all project activities are governed by structured planning, transparent reporting, and data-driven decision-making, thereby supporting management in achieving on-time, within-budget, and quality-assured delivery of the transmission system.
