Commercial Project Manager

Location: Downtown Cincinnati, OH

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm (occasional Saturdays)

Pay: $60,000–$75,000 (based on experience)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Role Overview

We are seeking a Commercial Project Manager to lead and manage campus-related commercial projects from planning through execution. This role includes full oversight of discovery, scope development, budgeting, scheduling, service management, quality control, compliance, and client communication.

You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients, proactively identifying needs, resolving issues, and ensuring that projects run efficiently and successfully.

What You’ll Do

Customer Partnership and Communication

  • Build strong relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Maintain proactive, clear, and consistent communication throughout each project.
  • Foster a solutions-focused approach and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for customer concerns.
  • Provide on-site support at project locations as needed within the Cincinnati area.


Project Planning and Development

  • Conduct discovery, gather requirements, and document project details.
  • Coordinate with designers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop scopes, budgets, proposals, ROMs, and timelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve speed, efficiency, and cost control.


Execution and Operational Oversight

  • Manage schedules, resources, deliverables, and daily service plans.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, personnel, and approvals are ready prior to execution.
  • Utilize company systems to track and communicate project details (Salesforce, Arrivy, MoversSuite, Archibus, etc.).
  • Coordinate vendor partners and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.


Monitoring, Financials, and Close-Out

  • Track progress and update budgets, schedules, and change orders.
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage punch lists, inspections, billing, and project close-out.
  • Maintain accurate financial reporting and project profitability.


Continuous Improvement

  • Support the development and refinement of SOPs and project processes.
  • Apply lessons learned from previous projects to improve efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement best practices and modern tools.


Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Project Management, or related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of commercial project management experience, including oversight of blue-collar labor teams.
  • Experience in commercial moving, construction, office furniture, or facilities management is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in customer service or relationship management preferred.


Skills

  • Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate diverse project teams.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial management skills.
  • High level of organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Archibus, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or Sage is helpful.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in office, warehouse, and campus environments.
  • Comfortable walking throughout large facilities for extended periods.
  • Occasional light physical involvement (typically up to 35–50 lbs depending on task).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional evenings or weekends based on project needs.
