Roles & Responsibilities of a Project Lead – PMC

1. Project Planning & Coordination

• Lead overall project planning in alignment with scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams for seamless execution.

2. Execution & Site Management

• Monitor day-to-day site activities ensuring adherence to design, specifications, and quality standards.
• Ensure proper deployment of manpower, resources, and materials as per site requirements.
• Proactively troubleshoot site issues and facilitate quick resolution.

3. Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Enforce quality control procedures and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and protocols by all stakeholders.
• Conduct periodic quality and safety audits and implement corrective actions.

4. Cost Control & Billing Support

• Monitor project budgets, BOQs, cost variations, and material consumption.
• Verify contractor bills, measurements, and certify quantities before client submission.
• Identify potential cost overruns and recommend preventive measures.

5. Vendor & Contractor Management

• Manage and coordinate multiple vendors and contractor teams.
• Track contractor performance, progress, productivity, and adherence to timelines.
• Ensure timely mobilization of resources and handle escalation for delays.

6. Client Management

• Act as the primary point of contact between the client and project stakeholders.
• Provide regular project updates and address technical queries.
• Build strong client relationships to ensure trust and smooth project execution.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Progress Reports (DPR/WPR/MPR).
• Maintain all project documentation including drawings, approvals, MOMs, logs, and checklists.
• Track changes, delays, risks, and maintain records for claims and variations.

8. Risk Management

• Identify risks related to design, execution, finance, or resources.
• Develop mitigation strategies and monitor critical risks throughout the project lifecycle.

9. Team Leadership

• Guide and mentor site engineers, supervisors, and project teams.
• Assign tasks, track deliverables, and ensure team productivity and discipline.
• Conduct internal coordination meetings and align teams with project objectives.

10. Handover & Closure

• Ensure snag rectification, final inspections, and testing & commissioning.
• Coordinate final documentation including handover reports, warranties, and as-built drawings.
• Support the client in smooth transition to operations or facility management teams.
