As the Procurement Specialist, you are responsible for the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and management of research-related subscriptions and vendor commercial relationships.

As the Procurement Specialist, you are responsible for the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and management of research-related subscriptions and vendor commercial relationships.
Position Responsibilities
- Manage the entire vendor lifecycle, from initial sourcing and onboarding to performance monitoring and relationship nurturing.
- Responsible for the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and management of all research-related subscriptions, ensuring cost-effective acquisition and compliance with licensing agreements.
- Draft, review, and finalize contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements while partnering with legal teams to capture necessary rights.
- Develop, manage, and monitor budgets for research subscriptions, identifying cost-saving opportunities and tracking ROI through spend and usage analysis.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for commercials on vendor evaluation, qualification, and competitive bidding needs.
- Conduct market research to identify potential new service providers, emerging platforms, and alternative research models.
- Analyze operating data and statistics to identify opportunities, develop action plans, and implement process improvements such as automating manual procedures.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and budget forecasts to leadership and stakeholders.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant professional experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiation.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
- Specialized experience in procurement for information services, library resources, or research content.
- Experience managing large budgets and complex vendor commercial relationships.
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) is mandatory for interacting with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Graduation or an equivalent degree in a relevant field.
- Deep familiarity with various licensing models, including seat, user, and perpetual access agreements.
