Job Description – Production Planning & Control (PPC) Engineer

Position: Production Planning & Control (PPC) Engineer

Location: Ahmedabad / Nearby Areas, Gujarat

Qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 2–3 years in Production Planning & Control, preferably in an electrical panel

manufacturing, automation, fabrication, or engineering manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

 Prepare and maintain production plans based on sales orders, customer delivery

schedules, and manufacturing capacity.

 Coordinate with the Sales department to understand customer priorities, delivery

commitments, and changes in schedules.

 Coordinate with the Design department to ensure preparation and submission of

drawings for customer approval.

 Follow up for timely release of production work orders.

 Monitor receipt of approved drawings and ensure timely release to production.

 Coordinate with the Purchase department for timely release of purchase orders for

production materials.

 Track procurement status and ensure timely receipt of raw materials, bought-out

items, and components.

 Monitor material availability before commencement of production.

 Prepare and follow up on material shortage lists and coordinate with Stores and

Purchase to resolve shortages.

 Plan and monitor fabrication activities to ensure adherence to production schedules.

 Monitor electrical assembly, wiring, and panel integration activities until completion.

 Track daily production progress and identify bottlenecks affecting delivery schedules.

 Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, Design, and Quality departments to

ensure uninterrupted workflow.

 Ensure adherence to production timelines and customer delivery commitments.

 Follow up with the Quality Control department for in-process inspections and final

testing.

 Coordinate customer inspection schedules and ensure readiness of products for

inspection.

 Follow up on inspection observations and ensure timely closure of customer

comments.

 Coordinate dispatch clearance after successful inspection.

 Liaise with the Logistics department for packing, dispatch planning, and

transportation arrangements.

 Maintain production planning reports, work order status, dispatch schedules, and

production progress records.

 Participate in daily production review meetings and provide updates on order status.

 Continuously monitor production efficiency and suggest improvements in planning

and workflow.

Desired Skills

 Good understanding of production planning and scheduling.

 Ability to coordinate across multiple departments.

 Knowledge of fabrication, electrical assembly, and manufacturing processes.

 Good communication and follow-up skills.

 Strong organizational and time management abilities.

 Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems, Gantt charts.

 Ability to work under pressure to meet delivery commitments.

 Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

 Experience in electrical control panel manufacturing, industrial automation,

switchgear, or engineered-to-order manufacturing will be preferred.

 Familiarity with fabrication processes, electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and

• dispatch coordination is an added advantage.
