Production Engineer

Job Purpose:

This job focuses on managing production activities in the Insulation and Multicore sections, ensuring cable quality, monitoring reports and scrap, and planning production. It emphasizes operational efficiency, best manufacturing practices, IMS compliance, Kaizen initiatives, problem-solving, and new product development. The role also involves cost-saving projects, inventory control, and making effective shop floor management decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee extrusion operations, systems, and daily activities
• Monitor risks, productivity, scrap, and NSL
• Coordinate with planning/production teams to meet goals
• Track and report performance metrics regularly
• Manage tooling, machine cleaning, and inventory control
• Lead manpower handling, training, and team motivation
• Drive process improvements, safety, and quality awareness

Qualification & Skills:

• Engineering graduate with 2–6 years of wire & cable industry experience
• Strong knowledge of cables, especially light duty (house wire, multicore)
• Expertise in extrusion processes and machine operations
• Understanding of compounds, conductors, and various cable types (LDC, Nylon, Speaker, etc.)
• Awareness of ISO and IMS standards
• Proficiency in statistical tools and ERP systems (ORACLE, MES)
• Inventory management skills
• Technical problem-solving for machines/products
• Team management and manpower handling skills
