Job Description
About Impact Analytics
Impact Analytics is an agentic-first AI software company transforming retail merchandising through cutting-edge AI, LLMs, and Generative AI technologies. As a fast-growing Series D company with deployments across five continents, it is building both industry-leading merchandising solutions and foundational AI agents that are redefining how retail decisions are made. What makes Impact Analytics unique is its combination of deep retail domain expertise, strong innovation culture, and global presence. It is one of the few India-born AI companies recognized globally by organizations like Fortune, Gartner, and the Inc. 5000.For candidates looking to work on next-generation AI products with global scale and real-world impact, Impact Analytics is an exciting place to build your career. Here’s a link to our website: www.impactanalytics.co.
The impact that you will be making
The platform is a store execution and allocation-review app used by store associates and managers on the floor of high-SKU physical retail locations, often with unreliable connectivity. The product decisions here are inseparable from mobile Android realities — screen real estate, offline behavior, interrupted workflows, and non-technical users under time pressure. This role owns the requirements, workflow design, and day-to-day product judgment for the mobile experience, and must be able to reason about Android constraints directly rather than translating through someone else.

What This Role Entails
Requirements & Product Definition
- Own detailed functional requirements for the mobile app: user stories with clear given-when-then acceptance criteria, workflow diagrams, and edge cases — not just feature summaries.
- Translate ambiguous business asks (from clients or internal stakeholders) into structured requirements, calling out open design decisions explicitly rather than letting them stay implicit.
- Define the end-to-end store associate and store manager workflows: review, edit, approval, and escalation paths, including what happens when a device is offline or a sync conflict occurs.
- Maintain a live backlog of open product decisions (e.g., edit-window rules, approval bounds, disposition of un-actioned items) and drive them to resolution with the right stakeholders.
- Understand and account for native Android constraints in every requirement: offline-first data availability, screen size and interaction patterns for a floor associate (often one-handed, gloved, or interrupted), and battery/network limitations on retail-grade devices.
- Partner directly with the mobile engineering team on feasibility and sequencing — able to ask the right technical questions about sync behavior, conflict resolution, and performance rather than treating mobile as a generic 'frontend.'
- Review mobile prototypes and builds hands-on (not just via specs) to catch usability issues specific to Android and to field conditions before they reach UAT.
- Flag when a requirement has architectural consequences (e.g., forces a specific offline-sync behavior) and route it to engineering early rather than after the design is set.
- Support active client delivery: participate in requirement walkthroughs, UAT planning, and client Q&A on product scope and behavior.
- Work backward from delivery milestones (e.g., data sign-off, go-live) to sequence requirements and flag scope risk early, with a recommendation attached — not just a flag.
- Produce client-ready documentation (FRDs, workflow diagrams, release notes) in plain business language, distinct from internal engineering specs.
- Coordinate with QA on test scenarios for mobile-specific risk areas: offline usage, interrupted sync, low-connectivity environments, and device variability.
- Continuously separate what is client-specific from what should be configurable at the platform level, and flag anything that risks being hard-coded to a single client's workflow.
- Contribute to the reusable configuration framework (personas, hierarchy depth, edit windows, approval rules) so future clients can be configured in rather than custom-built.
Must Have
- 6+ years of product management experience, with at least 4+ years specifically on a native Android or Android-first mobile product (not a web product with a mobile-responsive view).
- Demonstrated ability to write detailed, unambiguous requirements — given-when-then acceptance criteria, explicit edge cases, and open-decision tracking — not high-level feature descriptions.
- Working knowledge of core Android product constraints: offline data behavior, sync/conflict scenarios, notification and background-task limitations, and device fragmentation — enough to have a real conversation with a mobile architect, not just a glossary-level familiarity.
- Experience shipping a product used by non-technical, operationally focused end users in a physical, time-pressured environment (retail floor, warehouse, field service, logistics) — the design tolerance for error and training is very different from a desk-based B2B tool.
- Comfortable working directly from a live backlog of open design decisions and driving them to closure with multiple stakeholders, rather than waiting for decisions to be handed down.
- Prior experience in retail, logistics, or supply-chain software (store operations, inventory, warehouse management, delivery/route planning) — familiarity with allocation, replenishment, or capacity-constraint concepts is a plus.
- Experience working on a multi-client or multi-tenant B2B SaaS product, with prior practice distinguishing client-specific asks from platform-level configuration.
- Experience producing client-facing documentation and presenting product decisions directly to client stakeholders.
- Experience working with distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones.
- An opportunity to be part of some of the best enterprise SaaS products to be built out of India.
- Opportunities to quench your thirst for problem-solving, experimenting, learning, and implementing innovative solutions.
- A flat, collegial work environment, with a work hard, play hard attitude.
- A platform for rapid growth if you are willing to try new things without fear of failure.
- Remuneration with best-in-class industry standards with generous health insurance cover
- Ranked as one of America's Fastest-Growing Companies by Financial Times for five consecutive years: 2020-2024.
- Ranked as one of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies by Inc. 5000 for seven consecutive years: 2018-2024.
- Voted #1 by more than 300 retailers worldwide in the RIS Software LeaderBoard 2024 report.
- Ranked #72 in America’s Most Innovative Companies list in 2023—by Fortune—alongside companies like Microsoft, Tesla, Apple, IBM, etc.
- Forged a strategic partnership with Google to equip retailers with cutting-edge generative AI tools.
- Recognized in multiple Gartner reports, including Market Guides and Hype Cycle, spanning assortments, merchandising, forecasting, algorithmic retailing, and Unified Price, Promotion, and Markdown Optimization Applications.
