Job Description

Position: Procurement officer

Location: Gurgaon (Corporate Office)

CTC: ₹6–8 LPA

Job Summary

The Feedstock Coordinator will be responsible for planning, sourcing, and coordinating the continuous availability of agricultural biomass and other approved feed stocks for the Company’s Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants. The role requires close coordination with farmers, aggregators, transporters, plant operations, laboratories, and procurement teams to ensure uninterrupted feedstock supply, optimum inventory levels, and consistent feedstock quality.

The incumbent will also identify new biomass opportunities, develop supplier networks, monitor market trends, and support initiatives aimed at improving plant efficiency while reducing feedstock costs.

Key Responsibilities

Feedstock Procurement & Sourcing

  • Identify, develop, and on-board new suppliers, farmer groups, FPOs, aggregators, and contractors for agricultural residues and other approved feed stocks.
  • Develop long-term relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective feedstock supply chain.
  • Conduct market surveys to identify alternate biomass sources and evaluate seasonal availability.

Supply Chain Coordination

  • Coordinate with transporters and logistics partners to ensure timely lifting and delivery of feedstock.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly feedstock supply plans based on plant loading requirements.
  • Ensure uninterrupted feedstock availability for all assigned plants.

Inventory & Storage Management

  • Monitor daily feedstock receipts, stock levels, and storage conditions.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing storage losses and deterioration.
  • Coordinate with plant teams for proper stock reconciliation and inventory reporting.

Quality Coordination

  • Coordinate with the Quality Control Laboratory for feedstock sampling and testing.
  • Ensure feedstock meets prescribed quality parameters including moisture, contamination, volatile solids, and other operational requirements.
  • Implement corrective actions based on laboratory recommendations.

Operations Coordination

  • Work closely with Plant Operations to align feedstock availability with daily feeding schedules.
  • Support process optimization by ensuring the right feedstock mix for maximum biogas yield.
  • Participate in feedstock trials and biomass optimization initiatives.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, transportation, and inventory records.
  • Prepare MIS reports covering:
  • Feedstock procurement
  • Supplier performance
  • Inventory status
  • Consumption trends
  • Cost analysis
  • Supply forecasts
  • Analyse procurement trends and recommend cost-saving opportunities.

Supplier Performance Management

  • Monitor supplier performance against quality, quantity, delivery timelines, and pricing.
  • Resolve supply chain issues through proactive engagement with suppliers and transporters.
  • Maintain supplier evaluation records and recommend improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Rural Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in biomass procurement, agri-supply chain, biofuels, ethanol, CBG/biogas, food processing, or agro-based industries.
  • Experience in dealing with farmers, FPOs, aggregators, or agricultural supply chains will be preferred.

Key Priorities

    • Technical evaluation report submission with recommended variety submitted by end of Q2 as per schedule
    • Completing the mass balance, process flow diagram and design philosophy for Karnal Expansion
    • Maintaining zero downtime for the digesters and predicting near to accurate biogas generation to support plant operation
    • Establishing at least 1 potential collaboration for research funding
    • Formally closing R&D digester with complete documentation and management approval
