The company sources from over 1,000+ manufacturers, manages multiple fulfillment centres, and supports corporates with procurement, quality control, logistics, and sustainable packaging initiatives (EcoPac, RePac) Thus, the Procurement Manager position is critical in ensuring cost-effective, high-quality sourcing aligned with DCGPac’s scale, product diversity, and sustainability goals.
Role Summary: The Procurement Manager will be responsible for sourcing Quick Commerce/Dark Stores/Warehouse Assets/loose assets/supplies, develop pan India vendores, meet the required quality standards, and support operational needs. They will also manage vendor relationships, ensure inventory control, and work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for loose assets to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and timely availability.
- Identify, evaluate, select, and negotiate with vendors/suppliers for loose assets in terms of price, quality, delivery time, terms, and conditions.
- Maintain and update approved vendor lists; conduct vendor performance reviews.
- Work with operations and stores to forecast demand for loose assets to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Manage purchase orders, contracts, and ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and corporate governance.
- Monitor market trends, vendor rates, and new product developments to recommend innovations or cost-saving measures.
- Ensure proper documentation for all procurements including quotations, contracts, and invoices.
- Collaborate with warehouse / stores team to ensure quality checks, receiving, counting, and timely dispatch of loose assets.
- Maintain inventory records, perform periodic audits, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure assets are tracked.
- Implement cost reduction, value engineering and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure supplier compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Liaise with finance for approvals, budgeting, payment schedules, and reconciliation.
- Train and mentor junior procurement/stores staff as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree or additional certifications (e.g. CPPM, CIPS, CPSM) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience, of which at least 23 years in management / leadership role. Specific experience in managing loose assets or small equipment / tools is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, vendor negotiation, and supply chain dynamics.
- Good knowledge of inventory management, asset tracking, and stores operations.
- Familiarity with ERP / procurement systems.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to do cost-benefit analysis.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work crossfunctionally, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical sourcing.
