Job Summary
The Purchase Manager is responsible for end-to-end procurement of materials, equipment, and services for civil and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, vendor management, cost control, and timely procurement in line with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute procurement activities for civil and infrastructure projects.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors and suppliers for materials and services.
- Float enquiries, analyse quotations, prepare comparative statements, and issue purchase orders.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers.
- Ensure procurement aligns with approved budgets and project timelines.
- Coordinate with project, QA/QC, stores, and finance teams.
- Ensure materials comply with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Oversee material planning, inventory control, and delivery tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 8–15 years of procurement experience in civil and infrastructure construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good coordination, communication, and analytical abilities.
- ERP system proficiency.
