Job Title: Senior Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer Location: Goregoan Department: IT Infrastructure Experience: 8 to 10 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer to lead the planning, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise backup solutions, disaster recovery systems, and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI). The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise along with the ability to architect resilient data protection strategies aligned with business continuity goals. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions. Lead disaster recovery planning, execution, and periodic DR drills. Administer and troubleshoot backup tools and technologies such as Veritas, Veeam, Commvault, Networker, etc. Manage HCI solutions (Nutanix, VMware vSAN, Hyper-V S2D, etc.) including deployment, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management. Ensure RPO/RTO compliance and optimize backup performance and storage utilization. Implement data retention, archival policies, and off-site/cloud data protection. Monitor backup job health, restore operations, and conduct root cause analysis for failures. Develop documentation including DR runbooks, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and compliance reports. Support audits, security standards, and data protection governance (ISO, ITIL compliance preferred). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and migrations. Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience in enterprise backup & recovery solutions (at least one major tool mandatory). Experience in disaster recovery strategy design and execution. Good understanding of hyper-converged systems (preferably Nutanix or VMware vSAN). Knowledge of storage technologies: SAN, NAS, RAID, snapshots, replication. Familiarity with virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper-V. Working experience with cloud backup solutions (Azure/AWS) is a plus. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. ITIL certification preferred; industry certifications in backup/storage technologies are a plus. Education Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications (Veeam VMCE, Commvault, Nutanix NCP, VMware VCP, etc.) preferred. Soft Skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Proactive problem-solving and ability to work under pressure. Strong ownership mindset and customer-centric approach.
