Job Description
Join a cutting-edge research project at IIT Kanpur focused on developing a high-performance compiler for an advanced RISC-V DSP and AI Compute architecture featuring 256-bit SIMD vector engine. This project involves state-of-the-art compiler research, optimization, and software development. Responsibilities: Conduct original research on compiler optimizations for DSP, AI compute and vector architectures including instruction selection, scheduling, and register allocation. Design and prototype auto-vectorization strategies for SIMD pipelines. Collaborate closely with hardware architects and software engineers to align compiler technology with architectural features. Publish high-quality research papers in relevant conferences and journals. Mentor junior researchers and contribute to technical documentation and presentations. Qualifications: PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with focus on compilers, embedded systems, or parallel computing. Strong publication track record in compiler optimization, vectorization, or DSP architecture. Expertise in LLVM or other advanced compiler frameworks. Knowledge of RISC-V ISA and SIMD architectures preferred. Proficient in C/C++ and systems programming. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams. Desired Skills: Experience with AI compute, DSP algorithms and signal processing. Familiarity with LLVM backend development. Understanding of compiler optimization passes and IR transformations.
