Plant Head – Cold Forging Expert

Role Description The Plant Head – Cold Forging Expert will oversee end-to-end operations of the cold forging plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This full-time, on-site role is based in Hosur and involves leading production planning, supervising shop-floor activities, and optimizing machine utilization and throughput. The role includes setting and monitoring process parameters for cold forging, troubleshooting technical issues, and driving continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost. The Plant Head will manage and mentor plant teams, coordinate with maintenance, quality, and supply chain functions, and ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements. The individual will also contribute to capacity planning, technology upgrades, and strategic initiatives to support business growth.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in cold forging processes, die design understanding, and Part Former or similar forging equipment operation.
• Experience in CNC turning and VMC machining environments, with knowledge of precision component manufacturing.
• Proven ability in production planning, plant operations management, and shop-floor supervision.
• Skills in quality assurance, process control, and continuous improvement methodologies (such as Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma).
• Capability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and material standards.
• Demonstrated leadership, team management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced manufacturing settings.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced qualifications in manufacturing or metallurgy are an advantage.
• Experience in automotive or precision engineering components manufacturing is highly beneficial.
