Planning Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning & Claims Specialist to support and monitor project schedules, analyze progress, and manage claims to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. This role plays a key part in maintaining contractual compliance, supporting project objectives, and delivering accurate reporting to management and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project
• Monitor project progress, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
• Analyze delays and disruptions; prepare Extension of Time (EOT) assessments and support claims preparation
• Review contractual terms to ensure compliance in planning and claims management
• Prepare progress reports, dashboards, forecasts, and management presentations using Power BI
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to gather and validate data
• Conduct forensic schedule analyses to identify causes of delay and quantify impacts
• Support negotiation and resolution of claims with contractors and consultants
• Ensure adherence to company policies, contractual requirements, and industry best practices

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in project planning and claims management
• Strong experience working with contractor firms
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting
• Strong command of Primavera P6 and MS Project
• Solid understanding of construction contracts (FIDIC or similar) and claims procedures
• Expertise in delay analysis methodologies (e.g., Time Impact Analysis, As-Planned vs. As-Built)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills
• Ability to prepare detailed technical reports and claims documentation
• Knowledge of risk management and cost control principles
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage
