Planning Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Review customer Purchase Orders (POs) against cost sheets, production capacity, and material availability.
• Prepare and monitor production plans and schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution of work orders.
• Track production progress and take corrective actions to meet production targets.

Material & Inventory Planning

• Forecast raw material requirements based on production plans and demand projections.
• Ensure timely availability of materials through coordination with Procurement and Stores.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory.
• Monitor and reduce slow-moving and non-moving inventory.

Productivity & Performance Management

• Monitor production yield, efficiency, and productivity metrics.
• Analyze deviations from production targets and conduct root cause analysis.
• Implement corrective actions in collaboration with Production and Operations teams.
• Drive initiatives to improve productivity and reduce Turnaround Time (TAT).

Capacity Planning & Reporting

• Plan and monitor machine capacity utilization for existing and new production lines.
• Generate MIS reports related to production, inventory, capacity utilization, and productivity.
• Analyze operational data and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
• Support achievement of production and billing targets.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Production, Quality, Procurement, Stores, Sales, Finance, and R&D teams.
• Support new product development and introduction activities.
• Ensure alignment of production plans with organizational and customer requirements.

Qualification & Experience

Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering)

Experience: 1–3 years in Production Planning, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Planning, or related functions.
