What We Look For In a Physical Chemistry Tutor

• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at breaking down thermodynamic derivations, quantum mechanical calculations, and kinetic data analysis. Guides students through solving heat capacity problems, applying Boltzmann distributions, interpreting spectroscopic data, and deriving rate laws from mechanisms. Emphasizes mathematical rigor in chemical reasoning and connects physical chemistry to materials science, nanotechnology, and computational chemistry applications.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with physical chemistry curricula including both thermodynamics and quantum sequences, and common challenges such as multivariable calculus applications, understanding wave functions, and connecting microscopic to macroscopic properties. Adapts instruction using computational chemistry software, worked derivations, and visual quantum models to support chemistry majors at the advanced undergraduate level.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
