Role Description

This is a full-time on-site PhD position in Robotics at BITS Pilani - Goa Campus, located at Zuarinagar, Goa, India. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting research in robotics with an emphasis on theoretical development, experimentation, and application. Day-to-day activities include problem identification, algorithm design, prototyping, testing, and publishing findings in scholarly journals. Collaboration with faculty members, assisting in academic activities, and mentoring undergraduate or Master’s students may be required. The role offers opportunities to work in an advanced research environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities.


Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Robotics, Control Systems, and Autonomous Systems
  • Proficiency in Programming Languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision techniques
  • Familiarity with Robotic Simulation Tools (e.g., Gazebo, ROS) and Hardware Integration
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and research aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and writing skills
  • Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience with hardware prototyping and sensor integration is a plus
  • Passion for innovation and contributing to advancements in robotics
