Pharmacist (Operations, Procurement & Compliance)

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and licensed Pharmacist to oversee our pharmacy operations. This role is ideal for a professional who can seamlessly balance commercial activities—such as procurement and sales—with rigorous regulatory compliance and inventory control.

You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain of medicines, driving retail/dispensation sales, and ensuring our facility remains 100% compliant with all local state drug control and pharmacy council regulations.

Position Overview

  • Job Title: Pharmacist / Pharmacy Operations Manager
  • Department: Pharmacy Operations & Supply Chain
  • Location: Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana
  • Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance & Pharmacy Management

  • Licensing & Registrations: Prepare, submit, and manage all documentation required for obtaining, renewing, and maintaining retail and wholesale drug licenses.
  • Audit Readiness: Maintain up-to-date, error-free registries (including Schedule H, H1, and narcotics logs) to ensure the pharmacy is always prepared for surprise regulatory inspections.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure the physical setup of the pharmacy complies with local laws, including proper temperature-controlled storage (cold chain) and safety protocols.
  • Professional Representation: Serve as the primary point of contact for the State Drug Control Department and regulatory auditors.
2. Procurement & Purchase Management

  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with certified pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and clearing agents to secure competitive pricing.
  • Demand Forecasting: Analyze consumption patterns to place accurate purchase orders, minimizing stockouts of high-demand or critical medicines.
  • Inventory & Expiry Control: Implement strict First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) inventory principles. Track, document, and process near-expiry and damaged stock for vendor returns/refunds.
  • Quality Verification: Inspect all incoming shipments for batch numbers, expiry dates, cold-chain maintenance, and physical damage before intake.
3. Medicine Sales, Dispensation & Patient Care

  • Prescription Verification: Review and validate incoming medical prescriptions for accuracy, dosage safety, and potential drug interactions before dispensing.
  • Patient Counseling: Advise patients on correct dosage schedules, storage requirements, and potential side effects of their medications.
  • Sales Generation: Drive the commercial growth of the pharmacy through professional customer service, cross-selling over-the-counter (OTC) products, and managing digital/walk-in order billing.
  • Billing & POS Systems: Maintain precise records of daily sales transactions, digital payments, and cash management within the pharmacy’s ERP/billing software.
Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm).
  • Licensing: Must hold an active registered pharmacist license with the State Pharmacy Council, eligible to be registered with the pharmacy premises.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in retail pharmacy management, healthcare operations, or pharmaceutical distribution.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong working knowledge of local drug and cosmetic laws, scheduling systems, and compliance frameworks.
  • Practical experience using pharmacy ERP, POS billing software, and inventory management tools.
  • Proven negotiation skills for procurement and vendor onboarding.
  • Clear, compassionate verbal communication in English and local languages.
What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
  • Opportunities to transition into regional pharmacy operations or corporate supply chain roles.
  • Friendly, professional, and compliant working environment.
