The Packing Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining packaging machines in the dairy plant to ensure hygienic, accurate, and efficient packing of dairy products in compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate packing machines for dairy products such as milk, curd, butter, cheese, ghee, or flavored dairy items

Set up machines for different pack sizes and product variants as per production plans

Ensure correct weight, sealing, labeling, and coding of packed products

Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards (FSSAI, GMP, HACCP)

Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of packing machines and surrounding areas

Monitor machine performance and report breakdowns or abnormalities to maintenance

Record production data, wastage, downtime, and quality checks accurately

Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, and plant policies at all times

Assist in minor troubleshooting and changeovers when required

Coordinate with quality, production, and maintenance teams

Quality & Safety Responsibilities

Ensure packing materials meet quality specifications

Prevent contamination and ensure proper handling of dairy products

Follow personal hygiene and safety protocols (PPE usage, hand hygiene, etc.)

Report any quality deviations or safety hazards immediately

Educational Qualifications

Minimum: 10th / 12th Pass

ITI (Fitter / Electrical / Mechanical / Dairy Processing) – Preferred

Experience

1–3 years of experience in packing or production operations

Experience In Dairy / Food Processing Industry Preferred

Freshers may be considered with relevant training

Skills & Competencies

Basic knowledge of packing machines (form-fill-seal, pouch, cup, bottle, etc.)

Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

Ability to read basic production documents and SOPs

Physical stamina to work in shifts and standing positions

Attention to detail and quality orientation

Teamwork and discipline
