Job Description - OSS Engineer Position: OSS (Operations Support Systems) Engineer ? Department: Network Operations / IT Operations? Location: Bhopal, MP & Dehradun, UK? Role Overview ? The OSS Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining Operations Support Systems that enable effective monitoring, management, and automation of telecom/IT networks. The role involves working closely with network, service assurance, and IT teams to ensure seamless operations, service fulfilment, and service assurance across the infrastructure.? ? Key Responsibilities ? Deploy, configure, and maintain OSS applications and tools.? Integrate OSS with network elements, EMS, and NMS systems using industry protocols (SNMP, NetConf, REST APIs, etc.).? Monitor network alarms, performance metrics, and service health using OSS dashboards.? Provide Level 2/3 support for OSS-related incidents, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.? Automate workflows, reporting, and alarm correlation to improve operational efficiency.? Support service assurance and service fulfilment processes (fault, performance, inventory, provisioning).? Generate and maintain technical documentation (HLD, LLD, configurations, SOPs).? Collaborate with cross-functional teams (NOC, SOC, Planning, Field Ops, OEMs).? Ensure compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and regulatory requirements.? Participate in upgrades, patching, and testing of OSS systems.? Experience in managing IP/MPLS network through OSS? Detailed knowledge of OSS/BSS systems along with their Modules? Workflows? Service assurance/Service fulfilment detailed knowledge? Knowledge of Router interfaces/ports /VLANS etc??? Change management/Incident management etc? Knowledge on Hardware architecture an added advantage.? Skills & Qualifications ? Bachelor?s degree in Electronics/Telecom/Computer Science/IT or related field.? Hands-on experience with OSS/NMS platforms (e.g., Netcracker, HP TeMIP, IBM Netcool, Ericsson ENIQ, Huawei U2000, Nokia NetAct, etc.).? Strong knowledge of telecom networks (IP, MPLS, LTE/5G, DWDM, etc.).? Familiarity with eTOM and ITIL processes (Fault, Performance, Change, Incident management).? Proficiency in protocols: SNMP, Syslog, SOAP/REST APIs.? Scripting/automation skills (Python, Shell, Perl) are an added advantage.? Knowledge of databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and Linux/Unix systems.? Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.? ? Preferred Experience ? 2?5 years of experience in OSS engineering, system administration, or telecom network operations.? Exposure to multi-vendor environments and large-scale telecom/ISP setups.?
