Oracle Sql Server Database Administrator

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced Sr. DBA | DBA Tech Lead to join our team and drive database administration, performance optimization, and platform reliability across enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in database administration, with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and working knowledge of Oracle and MongoDB. This role requires a strong blend of hands-on technical skills, database development knowledge (T-SQL / PL-SQL), and leadership capability to manage complex database environments supporting business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration & Support

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server databases across on-premises and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Provide operational support for Oracle (L2 level) and MongoDB environments.
• Monitor database systems, logs, and scheduled jobs to ensure availability and successful execution of processes.
• Manage database access controls, user roles, and security configurations.
• Experience with database migration projects, including migration of on-premises Microsoft SQL Server to Azure SQL platforms covering assessment, schema conversion, data migration, application compatibility, cutover planning, validation and post-migration optimization

Performance Tuning & Optimization

• Perform advanced performance tuning using tools such as SQL Profiler, execution plans, and DBCC utilities.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and workload optimization.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, blocking, and deadlock issues.

Database Development & Automation

• Support development teams with efficient T-SQL and PL/SQL scripting and optimization.
• Review stored procedures, triggers, and database code for performance and best practices.
• Develop automation scripts using T-SQL and PowerShell for routine DBA activities.
• Manage data integration tasks using SSIS, BCP, and data transformation tools.

Platform Management & Integration

• Configure and manage Linked Servers and cross-platform data transfers.
• Support integrations across heterogeneous database systems.
• Work with reporting and analytics tools such as SSRS and SSAS.

Security & Compliance

• Implement database security best practices including authentication, authorization, encryption, and auditing.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards.

Required Skills & Experience

Primary Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2014 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022)

1. Expertise in: Performance tuning and query optimization
2. Always On and HA/DR implementations
3. Backup, recovery, and database maintenance
4. Advanced proficiency in T-SQL scripting

Secondary Skills

• Working knowledge of Oracle DBA (L2 level)
• Experience with PL/SQL development and troubleshooting
• Exposure to MongoDB (basic administration, replication concepts)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 10+ years of total experience, with 6–8 years in SQL Server administration
• Proven experience managing large-scale production databases

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft certifications (MCSA / MCSE / Azure Database Administrator)
• Oracle DBA certification (good to have)
